INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE: MOLECULAR BIOLOGY-
CURRENT ASPECTS AND PROSPECTS (ICMB)

Our first International Conference: Molecular Biology- Current Aspects and Prospects was held in November 2015, in Cluj-Napoca, Transilvania, Romania. If you want to find our the story, follow this link. Now, 10 years from our first conference, we gathered as a Science and Research Association (or more know as ScienceOnoging project) to organize the second edition. Our plan? It is not to reproduce the event from the first edition (even if we plan to keep some cool parts from that time), but to bring the greatest minds of molecular biology and young researchers in Cluj-Napoca to set the premises for a terrific future collaboration and to hunt for the advancement in this field. Find out our story

It was our first edition, in 2015 when our dream came true. Adorjan was a master student at Biology and Geology Faculty in Cluj-Napoca when he had the great idea to invite Nobel Prize Laureates at Cluj-Napoca, our student city. His idea was received with great joy, but nothing really happened until his colleague, Octavia joined the team. They were two students that could not be stopped anymore. For more than one year, they wrote their ideas on paper and presented to different parties that might have been interested in supporting their project. And so they met several people that got as enthusiastic as our two master students. So, with just one idea and a big dream, without any financial support form beginning, their project grew bigger and bigger. But, still everything was conditioned by the participation of at least one Nobel Laureate. And here it was… 23rd of December, the year before the conference when Sir Prof. Tim Hunt replied and accepted their invitation. And maybe, this was the real beginning of everything. Together with another coordinator, Denise, around 45 volunteers and support (including financially) from the biggest universities and research centers from Cluj-Napoca,  they created International Conference: Molecular Biology- Current Aspects and Prospects. With a final budget of around 30.000 €, they organised the first edition for almost 800  participants, including a high number of Bachelor and Master students.

Everyone else that submits an abstract after the deadline, it will have the possibility to participate in the conference only with a poster.

  • Participation Fee

Full registration

  • Early bird: 400Eur
  • Late bird: 450 Eur
  • Very-Late Bird: 500Eur
  • Festive dinner: included, but could be place limited

Groups of 3 to 5 registered: 10% reduction/person

Special offers (with proven documents)

  • Student (HighSchool, Bachelor, Master/Undergraduate): 150 Eur (only for Early Bird)
  • PhD students: 250 Eur (only for Early Bird)
  • Postdocs: 300 Eur (only for Early Bird)
  • Student travel grants or/and entrance free of charge available will be announced.
  • Daily participation will be possible, but it will be announced later.
  • Passive participation: 200Eur
All the participants (exception HighSchool students and passive participants) will have to submit an abstract (Early, Late or Very-Late Bird). If the abstract will be send before 15.06.2025, it will have the chance to be selected for a talk, if later, it will have the chance to be presented only as a poster.

Participation fee includes: 

* Participation to all the conference sessions, the special events subjected to subscription, depending on availability, including plenary talks, poster session, workshops and round tables

Not included: 
* accommodation (few locations will be available with reduced price for ICMB 2025 and few places will be available for students -Bachelor, Master and PhD enrolled in universities outside of Cluj-Napoca)
* Dinners (excluding the Festive Dinner)
